Igor Longhi
Igor Longhi is an Italian pianist and composer from Trieste, where he currently lives with his family.
In 2015, after the experience of the big stages trodden during the European tours with the band “Makako Jump” with which he touched cities such as Berlin, Vienna, Bratislava, Prague, Rome, he released his first solo piano album “The Flow”, that includes the track “Broken Soul”. This song, was used as the soundtrack of a short film to raise awareness about the problem of homophobia and sexual discrimination, one of the social issues to which the artist is very sensitive.
The beginning
Pianist and composer Igor Longhi started his piano classical studies as a five-year-old kid.
During his adolescence, along with classical studies, was born the curiosity to explore new sounds and so he began to explore different genres ranging from hard rock to reggae.
The ska-reggae years
In 2002, he is among the founders of the international reggae band Makako Jump as keyboard player and composer.
Between 2003 and 2012, the band released 4 full albums, 2 EPs and toured all over Europe often sharing the stage with great artists such as Ky-Mani Marley, Manu Chao, The Skatalites, The Toasters, and many others.
The return to origins
In 2014, he chooses the piano as his instrument of choice because only through the piano keys he is able to express his inner world at its best.
During these years, piano has remained his closest friend and confidant, and since 2015 he has dedicated himself to music mainly as a solo pianist and composer of soundtracks for shorts and commercials.
